Class size limited to 10!

Winding mountain roads, aspen filled valleys, the towering San Juan Mountains, crystal clear lakes and stunning artists light overwhelm the senses in the Ridgway/Telluride/Ouray area in the fall.  This beautiful mountain setting is one of the most awe inspiring places in the country to shoot fall colors and we will take full advantage of it.  Last Dollar Road and Dallas Divide are just a few of the amazing locations we will be visiting during this three day instructional workshop.

Dan has been fine tuning his workshops and methods of teaching photography for years.  He is a very passionate and creative teacher, who believes in spending a large amount of the workshop instructing & giving assignments.  He will give several group lectures as well as one-on-one instruction and critique to each student,  catering to each individuals personal photographic level.  Landscape photography business idea's will also be touched upon.  Dan's goal for each workshop is to help you see the final printed image in your "mind's eye" before you push the button.  You will learn Dan's entire process for creating powerful & dramatic images starting with where to shoot & why;  how to master composition;  understand light;  set up your camera; & what you need to carry in your camera bag.  Dan will also teach an afternoon session on LR post processing techniques.  He uses a unique approach that leads to natural, but vibrant images.  Dan is committed to helping you get images you will be proud of!

"Dan Ballard led a fantastic workshop on fall colors in Colorado.  Why was it fantastic?  Let me be specific:

Dan was familiar with the area, and led us off the beaten path taken by other photographers, with spectacular results.
Dan spent time with each student while in the field.  Students were relative rookies (me) to very experienced photographers.  Dan had teaching tips for us all.  And, he is not afraid to be clear on how you could make a particular photo even better.
Dan was able to articulate his philosophy clearly and simply.  The result was instilling in students a new thought process prior to pushing that shutter button.
Finally, Dan's enthusiasm is infectious.  That can be a very important quality when it is 5AM and raining and I am wondering why I am not still in bed!  (Got some great shots!)"
